Mitch and Charlie grew up in Cary, North Carolina. Both put college on hold to build businesses from scratch — Mitch in real estate and subdivision development, Charlie as the founder of Equinox Window Cleaning, which has served Wake County homeowners for years.
A shared interest in health and what actually goes into the body brought them to water treatment. Research into chloramines, PFAS, and other contaminants in local water made the problem clear — and the solution obvious.
They started Genius Water Co. to give Triangle families access to quality water treatment without the franchise markup. Every customer starts with a free water test, every recommendation is specific to that home's water, and every install is done by people who care about getting it right.
When you don't see us helping with water problems, you can catch us around town trying new restaurants or at the beach enjoying boating, golf, and the rest of what makes this area home.

Genius Water Co. is a locally owned, Raleigh-based water treatment company. We aren't a national franchise, we aren't a big-box installer, and we don't run our business out of a call center three states away. We're a small local team working directly with homeowners across the Triangle and Triad.
The company was built around one idea: fix only what needs fixing. Water treatment has a long reputation for high-pressure sales — knock on the door, run a bubble demo, sell the biggest system in the truck. We do the opposite. Every project starts with a free in-home water test, and the recommendation comes from those numbers, not from a quota. If your home doesn't need a softener, we'll say so. If you only need reverse osmosis at the kitchen sink, that's what we quote.
Because we're locally owned, our costs are lower and our accountability is higher. You're dealing with the same team that tested your water, sized your system, installed it, and will pick up the phone if something needs attention six months from now. There's no franchise overhead built into the price, and there's no handoff to a stranger after the sale.
