What It Is

PFAS are a family of synthetic chemicals that don't naturally break down. They've been used in everything from firefighting foam to non-stick pans to water-repellent fabrics for decades, and they've found their way into water sources across North Carolina. Regulatory standards are still being finalized. What we tell customers: testing is the only way to know your specific situation, and there are proven home technologies that meaningfully reduce PFAS at the drinking tap.

For the great majority of homes, an under-sink reverse osmosis system handles PFAS reduction at the kitchen tap — where you actually drink and cook. Pair it with a quality whole-home carbon filter to address chloramines and a broad range of other contaminants throughout the rest of the house. If testing shows a higher PFAS load and the use case warrants it, we can design a more aggressive whole-home approach. We don't oversell.
